Do you have a garden? Veggie or flower? Perennial or annual? Do you love it or do you only see the weeds by the end of the summer?

We have a few gardens.. just flower gardens. We used to have one at the back of our house, but the weeds were too much to control.. so we're slowly getting rid of it.. and going to put grass there instead. We have one at the front and one along the side. I hate gardening. I love flowers, but hate bugs, dirt and anything else you might find in there.. so Brad does most of the gardening at our house. LOL

We have a few flower gardens in the front of the house, one 'experiemental' one in the back and one good sized vegetable garden and one smaller vegetable garden. Tony is the gardener in this family, although I am spreading my green wings a little each year, and loving it!

we have ridiculous gardens - I can't seem to grow much food (a few tomatoes, peas, strawberries, cukes, spinach and maybe some peppers here and there but that's it) despite our fabulous greenhouse, but we have lots of flower/shrub/perennial gardens and I adore my hanging baskets. I laughed so hard when I heard this "old garden adage" about gardening...

"Inch by inch, it's a cinch - yard by yard it's too hard."

yup, I laughed at that. Because I did the garden like I do everything else lol - yard by yard, or even mile by mile Wink! It is really nice this year, finally, but it has sure taken a lot of tears (and fences and machines) to get it this way.

Hope you snapped some pics of your gardens this summer Sarah. I would love to see them. You must have a real green thumb to have all that! Very Happy

I garden, love it.
We too used to have a big peice in the back that I did all the veggies in, but with 4 kids, it just escaped me.
So now it is just the fruit trees and bushes.
We are going to gravel it and use the space to park the trailer and truck.

In the front I have 2 gardens, both flower, and pots that surround the house.
I container garden all my veggies now. SOOO much easier and less weeds.
They did not do as well this year, but then we did not have the greatest summer. Sad

okay, finally, just for you.....

these are random pics of the garden at random times this summer. You can see my favorite little grey 'gardener's helpers' in one or two shots - I tried my best to teach them to dig weeds as puppies but alas... so if you spot a weed or two in these shots it is because of them lol Wink And my constant disclaimer... this garden was grass 4 years ago and is therefore very much still a work in progress. Anyway...
